The Brief
The project explored the relationship between form, material, and concealed functionality in furniture design. The assignment was to create a table with a drawer incorporated.
The Problem
This project marked my first experience working extensively with woodworking and furniture fabrication. The challenge was not only to design a functional piece, but also to learn how to translate a concept into a constructed physical piece.
Insight
Through the process of building with wood, I began to understand the importance of precision through the joinery and grain direction.
